I’ve been hooked on Golden Goose Deluxe Brand for a while. They were established in the year 2000 after bringing together the talents of Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo in Italy. As time went on, they have grown into a major designer brand with boutiques in multiple countries, and it’s one that style enthusiasts really love.
I’ve followed Golden Goose for ages and I would often browse the selection at FarFetch, as they always had an curated selection, but I never ended up getting any because I always thought they were quite expensive and seemed too close in style to Converse, so they were always saved for later. Some time back, Adam was the one who originally loved the brand and he actually got his first pair of their Superstar sneakers last year, which was what inspired me to look into them more. Seeing his pair up close and seeing how each pair of their shoes is completely unique because they’re crafted by hand in Italy, I was even more curious. As the Golden Goose Superstar sneakers are pre-distressed and made to look used and abused, they are all hand done so each one is different. Some have stronger distressing than others, so each pair is unpredictable.
If you’re shopping offline, it might be a good idea to look at multiple pairs and select from them, but if you’re ordering online, you have to hope you get a good pair!The pair of sneakers that I liked from the beginning are the ones above in the main image, as they’ve been in rotation a long time, but I never ended up purchasing them.
I actually ended up getting the Shopbop-exclusive silver pair, and they’re a pair I have used occasionally (see here and my Golden Goose review here). I really golden goose sneakers enjoy them! I bought another pair in the same model and customized them with new laces + colored accents, so they’re really cute! I also own a pair of plush burgundy style, and two pairs of high-cut styles!
